September 24, 2010 My my Chanel…
We get WWD delivered directly to our design studio here at Lipstick Prophets… and between the 3 day lag at the post office and the 1-4 day lag of us getting down to the mailbox I JUST set my eyes on this amazing full page ad CHANEL took out on Sept 20th.
This read totally epitomizes the entire face (or faces) of fashion!!! BRAVO CHANEL.
September 22, 2010 And now a few from DVF
mean.. how chic! She was and still is the top tier of all worlds.
And how lucky am I to have gone to the “Goddess” Spring 2011 fashion show at Lincoln Center!
I need to get a better camera or bring a photographer next season!
And here is me (below).. on my way to the DVF dinner. This is BEFORE I literally split my dress I ate so much!! I decided to wear this to die for 1950′s vintage dress complete with crinoline. And those 1950′s waists were so tiny… and the fabric so delicate and crispy.. and my mouth so… busy. Chewing. It felt like my dress was shrinking, a mini panic attack, a slight rip…and a bright red flush once pale face. That is how it went down. And I would do it all again, but next time I am bringing a jacket in case I have to unzip.
AND thank GOD Anderson Cooper was already gone. I just may have really been embarrassed if he caught wind of my debacle.
Lips: MAC “REDD” Liner filled in entire lip.
September 17, 2010 Anna Sui … surprise!
The surprise was all mine! This week while recovering the beating of my heart in NYC I had a lovely tea with my favorite photographer and my NYC Mom Roxanne Lowit . If you follow the STONE FOX TUMBLER (where I have posed many an inspirational photo) or have exquisite taste you know who I am speaking of. Famous for her black and white candid photos of the earths most interesting people having a really good time, she has published 3 books… “Moments” 1990 “People” 2001 and her most recent “Backstage Dior” 2009.
So here’s the surprise… as we were wrapping up our tea Roxanne offered to cart me along to the Anna Sui show.. YAY! I was nowhere near “dressed” for a show but we headed up to the tents at Lincoln Center … backstage… Roxanne Lowit style!
While Roxanne worked her magic I cruised front of the house and plopped down in a seat… Amazing!
The show was classic Anna Sui… Soft flowing hippy dresses peppered with a 1920′s flapper vibe. Exquisite feather headbands and my new obsession her entirely too long beaded and sparsely feathered necklace. AH-MAZING![slideshow]
P.S. Thanx Roxanne!!!!!
September 15, 2010 The hunt is over
I love nail polish. I love looking down at my hands and seeing color staring back at me. That being said I am constantly on the hunt for cool and different nail colors. I get bored easily and hate having a pedestrian color.
Well… I found heaven, polish heaven! RGB is a fantastic nail polish comapany (shop or lurk here ) The colors I chose for my NY stomp.. “Minty” and “Too Red”. I just had to see these colors next to each other so I chose to throw the red on my index figer amidst it’s minty neighbors. I also saw some taupe’s and flat tan’s I might become obsessed with next!!
September 15, 2010 Rodarte RULES!! (RADARTE)
WOW WOW WOW WOAH. Bravo sisters! Rodarte Spring 2011 turns this line from art you wear to wearable art. Both a revelation and revolution. Cut out shoulders, kimono like cummerbunds, and the range from flowing skirts to heavily constructed leather panels. Cute little ankle socks with chunky heals to complete the looks. And I love love loved the air and makeup. Long pretty hair with a chunky huge barrette. LOVE!!!
Here is a beautiful photo essay by Elizabeth Donohue or as I like to call her Puppy ( @lizpuppy )

September 13, 2010 NYC Fashion week Spring 2011
Ali Barone and Antonia Steinberg
1st stop C Ronson.
MEH… I have had 0 internet since I arrived on this fine island.. so much to catch up on! Where to begin?
Saturday night was the Charlotte Ronson show at the Lincoln Center. For those of you who live under fashions rock, the tents at Bryant Park are no longer so all the shows moved up to Lincoln. I could write an entire blog on how much more dignified it is up there. Those tents were ghetto.
The show was fantastic. Samantha Ronson was spinning early 90′s grunge which really complimented the collections vibe. Models cruised down the runway with little tuque’s circa 1991 coupled with sheer long chiffon dresses and plaid flannel shirts tied around the waist. Scrunched socks with sandels. CUTE!
It was pretty, and young. Elegant and cool. What a great way to start my week!
Hopefully I will have a little more intenet, for a little more bloggin!
And thank you to Russell Steinberg for getting me in!!!
September 9, 2010 Some fashion Blogging…
Here I sit at LP HQ packing the lines and getting ready to depart for NYC tomorrow for New York Fashion Week! I am so excited I can barley exist… NYC was my stomping grounds for 11 years so a trip for fashion week is a trip home.
Make sure you check back often this week.. I will be posting from the fashion shows and parties and any trouble or tea I find.
Here is a candid of me and Kelly O from last fashion week I just found in my phone… she is so fuckin cute!!!
